Stratus Data Systems Appointed to Provide Technology for North America’s Largest Real Estate Multiple Listing ServiceWHITE PLAINS, NY—Stratus Data Systems has been appointed the technology provider by the Toronto (Canada) Real Estate Board (TREB), the largest (non-regional) multiple listing service in North America with 17,500 members. Stratus and TREB signed a multi-year agreement that will put TREB agents within easy reach of property listings and numerous REALTOR® tools. Fast and dependable access to up-to-the minute information will help them serve customers buying and selling homes. Stratus (www.stratusdata.com) specializes in providing advanced Web-based systems to large real estate boards and associations. The company’s flagship product, Stratus MLS, is a full-featured Web-based system that offers all the standard functionality of traditional MLS systems, enriched with interactive features made possible by the Internet. Stratus MLS makes huge amounts of information available to REALTORS® quickly, in a very user-friendly format and from any location, including wireless devices. “Our decision to appoint Stratus follows extensive research, including meetings with the company and a major client, with technical consultants and lawyers. As a result, we are confident that Stratus is the best company to meet our needs for today and tomorrow,” said TREB President David Pearce. “Our members are especially impressed with the mapping capability, which includes graphic illustrations of the locations of listings, churches, schools, etc.” The system includes automated e-mail alerts along with graphical searches and reports—plus financial, scheduling, communication, and contact management functions. The initial phase will be completed by Dec. 25. Stratus also will provide ongoing monitoring, maintenance, security and stability for the new system to be located in the Greater Toronto area. “We are very pleased to have been selected as the technology provider to take TREB’s multiple listing service to a new level. We look forward to keeping TREB at the forefront of the industry with our cutting edge technology, and we are committed to providing unsurpassed customer service,” said Carlos Grass, Stratus Data Systems president. Stratus also is the technology provider for the largest (non-regional) multiple listing service in the U.S.—The MLS of Long Island—with 14,500 members. The company was founded in 1998 when management purchased the assets of 18-year-old Greenwich, Ct.-based Dator Corp., a leader in MLS systems, and incorporated the flexibility and functionality of older systems into the Web environment. |
